World War I was so deadly and destructive that it became known by contemporaries as āthe war to end all warsā. However, merely 20 years following the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, a far deadlier and more destructive conflict, World War II, would be underway. What do you think people at the time of WWI failed to recognize as possible precursors to WWII?
