New Security Requirement: Two-Factor Authentication
To better protect your account, we are implementing Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all district administrators.
Beginning Wednesday, August 6, district administrators will be prompted to set up 2FA the next time they log in, no action needed until then.
Changes you’ll notice:
- You’ll be prompted to set up 2FA upon logging in after August 6.
- Each time you sign in, you’ll enter a one-time code from your authenticator app.
Available apps:
Duo, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy
- You can optionally choose to remember your session for 3 days.
- Teachers will not be required to use 2FA with an authenticator app, but will be able to set up one in their profile if they choose.
We’ve tested the system with Duo, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy, any of these will work.
This extra layer of security helps ensure that only authorized users can access district-level account features. This makes your VNG account more secure!
