VNG Teacher Spotlight: Samuel McHan
Samuel McHan received the award for Social Studies Teacher of the Month for September 2026. Samuel is an 8th-Grade US History teacher at Slayter Creek Middle School in Anna ISD. This year the Visual Non-Glossary was new to the 8th-Grade team at Slayter Creek MS, and as his nominator reports, he "jumped all in with incorporating the VNG to support his EBs and all students!"
With the Visual Non-Glossary, Samuel creates a collaborative learning environment with meaningful academic conversations. Samuel says:
I really enjoy using Visual Non-Glossary to help create student led lessons. The visuals create an opportunity for my students to discover the content personally. I can have meaningful discussions of the content, and it allows my students to quickly learn the basic information, then ask questions that deepen and strengthen their learning.
